November 1, 2006:
Underneath the red panel
Many thanks to Ric who was not only brave enough to disassemble the rear panel area of his GP, but also took loads of pictures
The red panel removed - bracket of luggage bar still fitted:

A question.
Having reached up behind the red cover from the access panels in the trunk it “felt” as though the clips for the red panel were “not” removable but that the red panel was heat fused to the side piece. Is this true or did it “pop” off.

You are correct, fused

Would someone be willing to post a step-by-step guide for removing the entire bar, and replacing the red panels?
Thanks

The whole red panel and “luggage bar” arrangement seems very silly, and even more so when you see how slapped together it is under the facade. They should have either tied the rear strut towers together with a true brace bar or, better yet, leave in the very functional rear seats and drop the net 25lbs elsewhere.

But they did what they did - and we chose to buy the GP as it is, so they were successful!

Yes, whatever you think about the car, the marketing campaign was successful.
