October 2, 2006:
Changing tires
See this MINI2 thread from Lorien:
I changed the tires, as the Dunlop runflats that came with the car were way too stiff for me, as well as being very problematic on the many bad roads in Italy …
Today I drove from Spoleto to Rimini and back, which overall was about 315 miles … The difference between the tires in my opinion was easily noticeable. The car felt a lot smoother, and I let myself drive a lot faster on corners than I used to till now. The GP totally sticks to the road no matter what speed I drive it. It feels perfect. They are quieter and less bumpier …
UPDATE:
Charlie has confirmed that the Continental Flat Tire Kit fits into the storage spaces in the GP:

Ian: I also noticed a huge difference when I went from the Pirelli eufori RunFlats to BF Goodrich g force T/A tires on my MCS. Much quieter, excellent grip but most of all a much less bumpy ride. It totally transformed the car from the harshness of the runflats. Now I travel with a small compressor and some fix-a-flat!
