August 23, 2006:
MTTS day 3 – Route 66, the Grand Canyon and a clean car
Today was an early start, because I wanted to visit the Grand Canyon on the way to Flagstaff … met up with five other MINIs so the drive was much more fun than previous days!

Now, more driving – heading to Route 66 in Kingman:

And an early lunch in Kingman, at Mr. D’z:

(Gary & Heidi)
Then off again towards the Grand Canyon – we saw some amazing clouds (and lightning) on the way, but we only had a short rain burst …

And we made it to the Grand Canyon – complete with Quack Quack Jack:

Finally in Flagstaff, there was a car wash organized by MINI Takes The States, raising money as part of Motoring Hearts – it was popular!

So what has been the average daily car count? Any problems with the GP? I see your getting nearing the end of 1500 mile break in cycle, that is if the GP has that.

I should go past break-in today
Car count seems to vary loads; yesterdays start in Vegas had perhaps 50 when I left, compared with maybe 150-200 in Santa Barbara
