August 26, 2006:
MTTS #6: Amarillo, TX to Dallas, TX
Total Daily Drive Time: 5.5 hours or 360 miles (9:00am – 4:00pm)
Main Route Synopsis: Get up early and make a bee line to Dallas. Today’s drive will lead you through some old and very quirky Texan towns. There’s Childress, Vernon and Wichita Falls and each have their own character and history. Don’t be surprised by things you find along the way on drive day 6. Once you motor into Dallas, marvel at the cities’ ever sprawling skyline and modern architecture. They’re right, everything IS big in Texas!
Special Events: The power combo of Rolling Stone magazine and Men’s Journal have partnered with MINI USA to throw a Texas style party (that’s BIG!). More than 1,200 MTTS participants are expected to motor with us into Dallas for an evening of laughs, dancing, food & more. We’re still working to finalize the location, so don’t to forget to check back for updates.

Where’s the beef?
Ian C. (2006/08/26 @ 7:25 pm)
Loads of cows on the road side – hundreds in one dirt “field”; doesn’t look like fun being a cow. But I still had beef for lunch
