MTTS#4: Flagstaff, AZ to Albuquerque, NM

Total Daily Drive Time: 5.5 hours or 323 miles (9:00am - 4:00pm)

Main Route Synopsis: After departing the mountainous region of Flagstaff, the drive on day 4 takes you through more high desert into the plateaus of New Mexico. Just before the New Mexico border, the roadway becomes flanked by high New Mexico plateaus and mesas. The region is scenic and holds much history. Just beyond the border, you’ll cross the Continental Divide. Ah, now you’re flowing towards the Atlantic Ocean. Expect roadside trading posts filled with Native American jewelry and goods.

As you near the New Mexico border, plan to stop just after Lupton, Arizona and on the AZ/NM border at the Yellowhorse Indian Trading post and market for a Route 66 commemorative photo, provided
